Digital workflow and traditional parameters: Influence of prosthetic guidelines in CBCT based implant planning and realization

Today implant planning is mainly prosthetic driven because of the need of an ideal implant position and emergence profil for avoiding periimplantitis also caused by wrongly designed prosthetics. More and more these implant plannings are performed digitally preoperative and are done guided during the surgery.
Beeing able to do the all-on-x concept with immediate temporization today in a successful way the need for a patient related bitesituation is growing allready at the time of planning or surgery. With tools like CBCT, intraoral scan or digital bite registrations we are able to collect all the needed data. The question is now how to combine these data and to implement them in the analog workflow of cephalometric analysis and guidelines for conventional prosthetic reconstructions. This lecture will give an overview on the currebnt digital workflows for implant and prosthetic planning, their influence in guided surgery as well as the importance of prosthetic guidelines for the implant therapy.
